In this episode I chat to New York based keyboard player and producer Cas Weinbren of See See Beats. Cas talks about his musical upbringing, becoming trained in classical and jazz on the piano, and then diving head first into the music industry to take any opportunity that has come his way. We also learn about Cas’ love of architecture and project management, and how he invests in real estate and construction projects, as well as using those project management skills to apply to his music career, whether that is in the recording studio producing music with hip hop artists or creating music for sync licensing opportunities. Finally we hear how Cas is creating new opportunities for older or more obscure musicians from the past to be discovered by new audiences with the help of sampling, as well as how he feels there is a distinct lack of transparency with streaming royalties and sync royalties alike.
